Beautiful relaxing oasis

I almost hate writing a review of this place because one of the things I love about it is the lack of crowds.
It's divided into different geographic areas- such as Australia or the Canary Islands.
My favorite is the waterfall in the Rain Forest- it's stunning.
I love just wandering around here.

Quail is a very special place, with the most fantastic bamboo forest, fruit tree collections, cork trees, waterfalls, hidden gardens, a really good plant store, and an ever enlarging, naturalistic children's play area. But it is $8 -- a fee necessitated when it was spun off from Encinitas as a private entity. It is too much. Much better to become a member for $50, with guest privileges.. It is one of the few memberships I'm really proud of...and it encourages me to go more often.
Not particularly interesting

The Quail Botanical Gardens are decent, but not particularly interesting. In my humble opinion, it's not worth the $8 admission fee. It seems a bit run-down, and when I visited in late April (for a friend's wedding) I don't even think I saw any flowers in bloom. If you like desert landscapes, you might enjoy it.
