I am retired from twenty years in the emergency field - the medical side of the house. I had to retire due to an on the job injury from the fire department. I hit my head - no not doing anything heroic - I was emptying a trash can and smacked my noggin on a shelf. I know you are laughing but most injuries occur in station not in an emergency. I hope you stopped laughing. Since then I have served as an Associate Pastor but due to a heart attack I had to give it up. My education includes an AA in accounting/software applications, a BA in Sociology, many undergraduate hours in computer science, EMT and Fire Service, as well as a semester of Master of Divinity at a major seminary and missions graduate school.

Hi and thanks for taking the time to read my profile. I like doing a lot of things here are a few: watching movies, camping, fishing, reading, computer games, cooking and many others. I work a PM shift so I'm a night person. I'm a Behavior Specialist, I work with emotionally distubed children. So now I have to add some more to this summary, well here goes nothing. I move here to California from Chicago some years ago and love it. I was a deputy sheriff there for 7 years and wanted to make a difference so started working with children.

For several reasons, I have decided not to use tobacco/alcohol/drugs at any point in my life. That said, it's a personal decision, and whatever you have chosen is okay with me. As long as you're not throwing your life away because of an addiction, I support you 100% and I don't mind hanging out with you while you're drinking, smoking, or toking either :)

With intoxication out of the picture, I get my thrills from adrenaline and testosterone instead =) I'm not really talented at the "extreme" sports and don't play organized sports like basketball anymore (too much politics, not enough sport), but I've found my niche playing semi-competitive laser tag, tearing up mosh pits, and having sex. I'm a Satyr...Nymphomaniacs welcome =)

I'm a hopeless romantic, I love the world and most of the people in it. I am hurt most by others' pain, second most by rejection because when I make an effort, it's genuine. I try to make everybody around me happy, sometimes at the cost of my own well-being and/or happiness. I'm the guy people wake up at 3 in the morning because they're stuck somewhere across the county and need a ride or a place to sleep. I get taken advantage of sometimes, but it's worth it to me.

Somehow, I also manage to be extremely logical/realistic - sometimes to the point it's a flaw. If you ask me what an ink blotch looks like, I'm likely to tell you it's an ink blotch. I'm creative, but my creativity needs structure and direction to manifest. I'm often the first person to come up with a plan to solve a problem or achieve a goal, and I usually end up throwing myself into some sort of leadership role because of that. You might say I enjoy being in charge ;-)

I am a geek through and through. I grew up playing NES/SNES and the last console I enjoyed playing was the N64. The only thing I enjoy on newer consoles is Rockband/Guitar Hero. Lately, I've been playing WoW & Counter-Strike, and when I get really bored I play Starcraft. Every week I go down to the Ultrazone in San Diego and play laser tag with the members there. Honestly, I don't really see much of a need to elaborate further but OKC insists that 1000 words is important, regardless of their content.

What is this quantity, not quality bullshit? Surely both would be ideal, but to say that a profile is incomplete without a specific number of words? What if I had 999 words, would it be that much better if I had 1 more? What if I was able to sum up myself, my goals, and my desires in 100 words? What would expanding this to 1000 words accomplish, besides wasting time in both writing and reading them?

I don't doubt that OKC is capable of matching us with like-minded people...in fact there's a few people here I've had meaningful conversations with and some I've gone out with or made plans to in the near future. Most of my "enemy" matches were pretty far from what I was looking for, and most of my "match" matches were people who shared several beliefs, goals, and/or tastes. It's some what hard to describe myself without being bias. So I'll start off with this: I am human, female and have experienced a lot of things through out my life which influence my views on the world and my place in it. I tend to crack jokes and have been told that I have a good sense of humor. I like to think, there's this bumpersticker I saw once that says people who know me think I am quiet those who do wish I was. Around some people I am more outgoing than around others, I try to be fairly compassionate towards other people but that doesn't mean I am door mat. I have a wide range of interests, I like science, history, politics, cartoons of almost any variety. I am a bit of a dreamer, I come up with ideas often that very often don't get fulfilled.

Uhhh.....well lets see..........I'll be 20 in 11 days, it is currently 11:38 P.M. as I write this, and I am bored out my mind. Been single for awhile now, (which is a gross understatement) but we'll leave it at that. I tend to get screwed over by females lot, but I prefer to just blame myself. Makes things easier in the long run. Plus it's easier to keep track of who to blame. :) Actually, truth be told, I've been single since before becoming a legal adult. Embarrasing, but it's true. You'd think I wouldn't want to mention that little tidbit but I don't particuarly care anymore. Despite some obvious shortcomings I'm a pretty relaxed, happy go lucky individual. Giddy almost sometimes, (no it isn't bi polar disorder I just try to be in a good mood and an amusing individual to be around) I am horribly shy around new people, particualry cute females, until I get comfortable around you. The only time I may come off as confident during the initial stages of meeting someone new is if we go someplace and I'm driving my car. I'll be honest, I'm very much into cars, probably going to major in automotive technology when I transfer out of Palomar. But of course if you're crusing aorund in a Corvette or something I may just feel embarrassed. Although when I ask you to pop your hood I'll actually be sincerely talking about the car, as opposed to you. I am a Christian, Methodist to be precise, and I actually do try to take my faith seriously. I'm afraid I'm not much a dancer. I mean, I was in a show choir for a few years and various musicals from time to time (I'm a singer/actor though I am a bass so don't expect me to solo much as most solo's are written for tenors), and so I CAN in fact dance, but I need weeks to practice choreography. I'm not the kind of guy you can take to a club and expect me to move. I'd rather nurse a drink all night taking breaks to slow dance and possibly waltz or maybe even fake some disco moves. So this should just about sum it up. A tad lonely, really into cars, decent Christian, actor/singer.....umm......and shy, but amusing and affable once you get to know me. OH, I'm also a geek. Yeah, that's right, fantasy books and movies, sci-fi video games etc. So if you're looking for some preppy jock or something, you're looking in the wrong place. I just lift weights and occasionally kick the soccer ball around or golf.

I'm just a back home kind of girl. I have an open mind and great attitude. I'm very honest although I'm not outspoken as often as I should be and well there again sometimes I say too much lol. I'm pretty shy until I get to know someone I have a hard time starting conversations but I can usually keep them going. I am actually seperated and have been for along time.

If you know me for the rest of your life, you'll learn something new about me every day. Everything about me contradicts something else. I can be very open and completely closed off at the same time. I'm a veritable bevy of juxtapositions. I like meeting new people, but take quite a while to decide if I like them or not. I'm willing to sit back and make a determination about someone by watching how they interact with others. At the same time, I'm very outgoing and willing to talk with someone if they strike the right chord in me. All my friends tell me on a regular basis that I'm an asshole. But then again, I tell people that when they ask me anyways. I guess being blunt and honest gains you that reputation. And if they didn't like it, I'm sure some of them would have left sometime before the 5-10 years I've known most of them.

My entire existance is music, music and thought. I love to connect on another plane with people and shoot the breeze for as long as they are willing to, picking each others brains. I'm very quiet, you'll need to get me talking, but once you do its hard to shut me up sometimes. I love going to palomar college and doing the normal things college kids do, but I much prefer relaxing, interacting with children, (they have such amazing thought processes) or just being in the presence of people who care about real conversation and want something more than just someone who they can take home that night.

With all honesty I am usually pinned with the "nice-guy" label. I am guilty of committing many bad jokes, but in my defense I usually get laughs out of them. I have a serious case of the travel bug. I can cook alot of the traditional meals, but I love to experiment and try new things whether they turn out well or not; it's about the journey, not the destination. Right? I will try anything once even if I have to force myself, and I believe that the main purpose of life is simply to enjoy it with those around you. Golf is my newest challenge and I love to dance, paint, do crafts, gardening and be in close contact with with family and friends.
